Ren & Ash Home Co. wasn't created in a boardroom. It was built from a lifetime of learning, working, building, and serving others.

I grew up on a small farm, where hard work wasn't something you talked about. That upbringing gave me something no school could, a real respect for hard work, follow-through, and doing things right the first time.

My dad was a carpenter, and he was my first teacher. Side by side, we worked on multiple ground-up home builds before I even graduated from college. Whether we were framing houses, tackling renovations, or helping friends and neighbors with side projects, I learned the value of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and treating people fairly.

In college, I spent two summers working for a local handyman. That's where my skills really started to stack up, apartment flips, window and door replacements, fence and deck repair, basic plumbing and electrical, lawn and yard care. You name it, I did it. Nothing fancy, just real work for real people.

Following college, I stepped into teaching, where I got to share the trades I loved, cabinetry, home maintenance, construction, and all the hands-on skills I'd spent a lifetime building. Many of the same skills I perform today were once lessons I shared in the classroom. Teaching reinforced something I still believe strongly: knowledge should be shared. Whether I'm repairing something in your home or helping you understand how it works, I'm always happy to teach homeowners who want to learn.

When my wife and I bought our first home together, it needed everything. I remodeled it, but as our family grew and we knew this was home for the long haul, I added 1,100 square feet and re-laid out the entire existing floor plan so the old and new actually worked together. That project expanded what I already knew and pushed my skills to another level.

Following my years teaching trades, I moved into the private sector and climbed the corporate ladder for a while. Good work, good people, but somewhere along the way I realized I missed using my hands. I missed building something and seeing it finished. I missed the satisfaction that comes from a job well done in the most literal sense.

So I came back to my roots. That's what ultimately led to the creation of Ren & Ash Home Co.

The name Ren & Ash comes from our children, the reason behind everything we do. This business is about more than home repairs. It's about building a legacy of hard work, integrity, craftsmanship, and service. The lessons I learned growing up on a farm and working alongside my father are the same lessons I hope to pass on to my own children.

I'm not here to build houses. I'm here to help you maintain yours, repair what needs fixing, and take real pride in where you live. That's what this is all about.
